2024 National Championship Finals Rules and Scoring

**Distance:**

  • Top 15 dogs in each division will be invited back for finals.
  • Finals consist of 2 attempts (2 minutes each) to achieve the longest distance.
  • No practice attempts are allowed during finals.
  • Top 10 placements are determined based on the finals score.

 

**Air Retrieve:**

  • Top 15 dogs in each division will be invited back for finals.
  • Dogs must start no less than 1 foot below their Nationals score.
  • Competitors must provide their starting distance before the division's Air Retrieve event begins.
    • If the starting distance isn't provided before the first dog enters the dock, the start distance is automatically set at the minimum 1 foot below their Nationals score, with no option to change.
  • Each dog has 2 misses or a total of 3 attempts.
  • Top 10 placements are based on the finals score.

 

**Hydro Dash:**

  • Top 15 dogs in each division will be invited back for finals.
  • Two attempts are given to achieve the fastest score.
  • Top 10 placements are determined based on the finals score.

 

**General Rules:**

  • To be placed in the top 10, a score must be earned in the finals.
  • Final rankings are based solely on the finals score for each division.
  • Splashes do not count towards titles or qualifying legs.
  • If your finals score moves you into the division above you will be placed with that division (can't move down)

 

NADD retains the right to make adjustments to competition rules as needed. This flexibility allows us to address any unforeseen circumstances or to improve the overall fairness and effectiveness of competition. If there are any updates or changes to the rules, competitors will be notified in advance on our 2024 National Championship FaceBook page, and posted near the Admin tent at Nationals to ensure everyone is aware of the modifications.
